APRIL 4

Teen Night Out

Where: The Arthur D. Healey School, 5 Meacham St., Somerville

When: Friday, April 4, 6-8 p.m.

Cost: Free

More Info: For teens with disabilities and special needs. The night will include board games, music, arts and crafts and pizza.

Sponsored by Medford Recreation, Malden Recreation and Somerville Parks & Recreation.

“Noises Off”

Where: Balch Arena Theatre, Aideman Arts Center, Tufts University, 40 Talbot St.

When: Friday, April 4, 8 p.m./Saturday, April 5, 8 p.m./Sunday, April 6, 3 p.m.

Cost: Free - no ticket needed

More Info: Pen, Paint, and Pretzels presents the first of three performances of  “Noises Off,” the Tuft’s student-run performing arts group spring show.

8th Annual Guns and Hoses

Where: Loconte Rink, 97 Locust St.

When: Saturday, April 5, doors open at 6 p.m.

Cost: TBA

More Info: The Guardian Cup is once again on the line, as Medford Fire Department tries to win it back from the defending champs, the Medford Police Department.

But the real winners will be the Hidden Battles Foundation, which works to raise awareness and combat suicide, the organization they’re partnering with and recipient of all proceeds.

Gather 2025 Symposium Kick-off

Where: Arts Collaborative Medford, 162 Mystic Ave.

When: Saturday, April 5, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Cost: $7 general admission/$10 optional breakfast with fellow makers

Learn to Play Magic the Gathering for Teens

Where: Youth Services Programming Room, Medford Public Library, 111 High St.

When: Saturday April 5, 2-5 p.m.

Cost: Free

More Info: Players will be taught how to play the Magic the Gathering Trading Card Game, participate in games, and take home their very own Starter Deck.

Friends of the Library Book & Bake Sale

Where: Medford Public Library, 111 High St.

When: Saturday, April 5, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Cost: Only whatever you buy!

More Info: The sale includes thousands of books plus DVDs, CDs, board games and jigsaw puzzles. Sale ends Sunday, April 6, 2 p.m.-5 p.m.

Walk for Wellness with the Friends

Where: Virginia Woods, 1 Woodland Road, Stoneham

When: Sunday, April 6, 1-2:30 p.m.

Cost: Free

More Info: Meet at the Virginia Wood Trailhead in Stoneham for a leisurely walk at a slow pace in the Fells forest.

APRIL 8

Reading Buddies

Where: Children’s Room, Medford Public Library, 111 High St.

When: Tuesday, April 8, 3:30-5 p.m.

Cost: Free

More Info: Practice your reading skills by reading aloud to a teen volunteer. “Buddies” can be ‘checked out’ for 30 minute increments and are happy to listen to any book you want to read.

Paint Night, Starry Lake

Where: The Great American Beer Hall, 142 Mystic Ave.

When: Tuesday, April 8, 7-9 p.m.

Cost: $45 per person/supplies included

More Info: Join Boston Paint Nite to create a starry lake with step by step instructions. No experience necessary- just a sense of adventure and a little inspiration needed. Must be of legal drinking age.

 APRIL 10

Vernal Pools and Wetland Life in the Fells

Where: 524-530 South Border Road, Winchester

When: Thursday, April 10, 3-5 p.m.

More Info: Join Friends of the Fells in a welcoming spring with a walk around Long Pond and learn about “Vernal Pools” in the Fells, or, temporary wetland areas that fill Spring pool in the Fells.
