Medford goes big for Harris
Medford voters turned out in force, with nearly 30,000 casting ballots. While Trump won nationally, Medford overwhelmingly backed Harris, earning her over 20,000 votes to Trump’s 7,691. Local races followed suit, with Democrats dominating across the board.

Of Medford’s 44,100 registered voters, some 29,543 turned out for Tuesday’s election. According to the city’s Elections Commission, “It was a great day for Medford.”
When Gotta Know Medford called to find how the day went, the office reported that there were no issues, everything went smoothly, and the polls were very, very busy.
The biggest race of the day was between former President Donald Trump and current Vice President Kamala Harris to determine who would be the 47th president of the United States.
Trump emerged the victor when the Associated Press called the race after he took Wisconsin’s electoral votes, but locally it was a different story. According to the unofficial results posted by the Commission, Harris took the lioness’ share of the votes in Medford, garnering 20,521 to Trump’s 7,691.
Down-ballot, Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren bested her challenger, John Deaton, by a similar margin in Medford taking 20,354 votes to his 8,239. Democratic Congresswoman Katherine Clark, MA-5th District, ran unopposed.
With the exception of that for Register of Deeds Middlesex Southern District, all the other races were uncontested. Democrat Maria Curtatone retained her seat as the Register of Deeds by beating Independent William “Billy” Tauro 19,080 to 6,891.
The full unofficial results with breakdowns by ward and precinct are posted on the Elections Commission page at www.medfordma/org.
